‘Keramik’

Keramik is dense and earthen. Inspired by the West German studio pottery movement, each painting borrows from the forms and surfaces of hand-thrown ceramics. Layered, scraped, burnished and broken back. Faded ochres, muddy greys, volcanic textures. Pottery reimagined as painting, grounded, irregular and quietly full of character.

‘Between Mountains’

Between Mountains is a quieter body of work. Understated palettes, forms that drift and settle, compositions that hold and let you stay awhile. Some works carry light & uplift, others are more grounding. Each painting finds its own stillness, a moment to breathe.

‘Woven’

Woven began with a single image — an extravagant, layered piece of fashion that stopped Kate in her tracks. The colour, the texture, the sheer accumulation of it. From there the paintings developed their own language, shapes and motifs from daily life finding their way in alongside the original reference. Something seen on a walk, a pattern half-remembered, an object that kept appearing. Created in the Perth studio, 2024
