‘Red Earth’ is an original abstract painting by Perth artist Kate Dolan. Part of the Between Mountains series, a collection in which Kate’s palette shifted from the earthy ceramics references of Keramik toward something more organic and landscape-driven. Warm reds and burnt ochres are built up and broken back, the surface alive with the memory of process. Layers are applied and rubbed away, each mark leaving a trace of what came before. A grounded, physical work with a strong connection to the Western Australian landscape and the red earth that defines it. Created in the Perth studio, 2025.
